OT History - A Relationship on His Terms

I Samuel 7:1-2

Background - The Israelites had "lost" the Ark of the Covenant, and after the Philistines had several issues with the Ark, they quickly sent it back to the Israelites. It ended up in one Israelite town, but they didn't handle it properly, so they sent it on to another town. The people of Kiriath-jearim did properly care for the Ark; they even consecrated a man to serve as a priest. They were so close to putting everything in its proper place. So close. . but not willing to go all the way - not willing to go so far as to put its in the temple.

How about me? How much do I really want a relationship with The Lord - on His terms not mine. There's the catch - - too often, I'm willing, but not willing to go all the way. Not willing to come on His terms, but settling for my 'good enough'. Is it really even 'good enough.'
